Newham Support Project
We have at last launched our UK project, Newham Support. Currently recruiting volunteers, we are delivering the first training course in September 2011 and the volunteers will start their good work as soon as this is completed.
Newham Disabled Children and Young People Team has been so helpful, and we will be working closely with them and the local authorities social care team, referring youngsters and attending relevent meetings. This project is very exciting and we are welcoming as many volunteers as possible. If you live in East London and are interested in taking part please contact us, we would love to talk further with you about it.
Painted Children Employment Support
Painted Children, working with ECO Saviour, have just finished their first Employment support Project funded by the Big Lottery. The project included the delivery of training in various health and safety subjects and we are over the moon to announce that 78 people have been presented with training certificates from Advantage Accreditation, enhancing their CV’s in the job market.
We were very honoured that Deputy Mayor of Tower Hamlets, Ohid Ahmed, attended a presentation of certificates to some of those involved in receiving training and would like to thank him very much for taking the time to come and speak with our volunteers.
Christmas Challenge Target Hit
Painted Children have reached their target on Big Give Christmas Challenge for the second year running. We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our supporters for donating in this way. We especially want to thank our major donors who saved their donations for this event specifically and the new supporters who have donated for the first time to Painted Children. This funding is very important to the work that Painted Children is doing, and will make such a difference to many peoples lives.
Thank you and Merry Christmas

Painted Children is now delivering training to our volunteers with the help and support of Advantage Accreditation. Accreditation for social care health and safety courses was achieved by the charity in September 2011, so the first delivery was given at the end of September. The courses are great, they are providing valuable training for volunteers and those out of work and education for which certificates are received to use in CV's. The scope of courses is to grow over the future months and it is the aim of the charity to have a portfolio of around nine to ten courses available by the end of next year.
If you would like to find out more about courses delivered to volunteers and those out of work please contact Victoria on 0208 534 5113 or e-mail admin@paintedchildren.co.uk.
